Mearsheimer is a realist and a very deep thinker. It is possible to agree with him and also believe that miracles are possible. As in 1989, if Russia fails, it will be because it collapses from within and, like the Afghans, the Ukrainians will be able to take some credit for that. We all have to play our part and it starts by repeating a new mantra:

"Russia is not really a country".
